FAQ

Muktinath Pilgrimage Tour — FAQs

Where is Muktinath?
Muktinath is a sacred temple at about 3,800 m in the Mustang district of Nepal, holy to both Hindus and Buddhists. It is reached via Pokhara and Jomsom in the Kali Gandaki valley.
How do I reach Muktinath?
Most journeys go Kathmandu – Pokhara – Jomsom (by flight or road) – Muktinath (by jeep). Flights and roads can be affected by weather, so we plan the safest practical route and keep buffer time.
How many days does the Muktinath tour take?
A typical Muktinath pilgrimage is 5–7 days from Kathmandu, including Pokhara and the Mustang section. Shorter fly-in and longer overland options are available.
Is Muktinath suitable for senior pilgrims?
Yes, with sensible planning. The temple is at altitude, so we plan a comfortable pace, vehicle support and rest. We advise honestly based on your group and health.
Do I need permits for Muktinath?
Lower Mustang (including Muktinath) needs an Annapurna Conservation Area permit and a trekking information card. Upper Mustang beyond Kagbeni is a restricted area with separate permits. We arrange the required permits.
Can I combine Muktinath with other places?
Yes. Common combinations include Pashupatinath and Boudhanath in Kathmandu, Pokhara sightseeing, Kagbeni, Marpha and, with permits, Upper Mustang and Lo Manthang.
