Muktinath, Pokhara and Kathmandu Spiritual Tour | 8-10 Days
Nepal holds a concentration of sacred sites unrivalled in Asia. This private 8-10 day spiritual tour connects three of the country’s most meaningful pilgrimage zones: Kathmandu’s ancient UNESCO temples, Pokhara’s lakeside shrines against the Annapurna panorama, and Muktinath — the high-altitude confluence of Hindu and Buddhist devotion at 3,710 metres. Eco Holiday Asia designs the journey as a single connected experience with a local specialist guide who understands the spiritual context at each site.
Overview
Kathmandu (Days 1-3): morning aarti at Pashupatinath, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath and a half-day at Patan’s Durbar Square. Pokhara (Days 4-5): Tal Barahi floating temple on Phewa Lake, Bindhyabasini Mandir and the Annapurna backdrop. Muktinath (Days 6-7): mountain flight to Jomsom, private jeep to the temple, full darshan with temple guide, overnight in Jomsom. Return to Pokhara by flight, then Kathmandu for departure.
Highlights
Sacred Sites in Detail
Pashupatinath
One of the four most significant Shiva shrines in the world. The riverside ghats where cremation rites are performed are treated with full respect. Eco Holiday Asia’s guide explains the ritual significance and history from the designated viewing areas.
Boudhanath
The great white dome of Boudhanath is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Evening kora by hundreds of Buddhist monks, nuns and lay practitioners is a deeply moving experience.
Muktinath
At 3,710 m in the Mustang wind corridor. The 108 stone bull-head spouts, the burning natural gas flame of Jwala Mai and the combined Hindu and Buddhist iconography reflect Nepal’s unique interfaith heritage.
Travel That Supports Local Communities
From Boudhanath craftspeople to Thakali guesthouse owners in Jomsom, this tour puts money directly into the hands of people who have lived alongside these sacred sites for generations.

Best Season & Weather
October–November: clearest mountain views, peak pilgrimage season. March–May: wildflowers, reliable flights. Avoid monsoon (June–August) for the Muktinath segment. Shivaratri (February/March) is the most auspicious time for Pashupatinath.
Health & Altitude
Kathmandu (1,400 m) and Pokhara (800 m) present no altitude concerns. Muktinath (3,710 m) is reached quickly by flight and jeep; one acclimatisation night in Jomsom (2,720 m) is built in. Travel insurance with helicopter evacuation is mandatory.
Respectful Pilgrimage Practice
Eco Holiday Asia guides all guests on temple etiquette before each site visit: appropriate dress, shoe removal protocols, the correct direction of circumambulation, and when photography is appropriate. We ask guests to be mindful of fellow pilgrims who have sometimes walked many days to reach these sites.
Planning Your Journey from Abroad
This tour is a self-contained Nepal spiritual journey. It combines naturally with an Annapurna Sanctuary or Poon Hill excursion, or an earlier Chitwan National Park wildlife safari. Eco Holiday Asia designs bespoke extensions and coordinates all international arrival logistics.
