Top Pokhara Day Tour Experiences
Depart hotel at 5am for the 35-minute drive to Sarangkot viewpoint (1,600m). Watch first light break over Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Machapuchre (Fishtail), Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu. One of the finest mountain panoramas accessible by road anywhere in Nepal. Back at hotel by 9am. Best in autumn and spring.
Cross Phewa Lake in a traditional wooden rowboat to the Barahi Island Temple (short Hindu shrine visit). Continue to the south shore for the 40-minute uphill walk to the World Peace Pagoda (Shanti Stupa), built by Japanese Buddhist monks. Panoramic lake and mountain views from the top. Return by boat. Approx 3–4 hours.
Bindhyabasini Temple (old Bazaar area), Devi’s Falls (underground river waterfall), Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave (sacred shrine directly above Devi’s Falls), Mahendra Cave (limestone stalactites), and the International Mountain Museum (showcases all 14 x 8,000m peaks). A full-day circuit giving cultural and natural context to the region.
Just 13km east of Pokhara, Begnas Lake is a quieter alternative to Phewa. Boat across Begnas, optional ridge walk for Manaslu and Himalchuli views. Nearby Rupa Lake is a bird-rich wetland. Perfect for visitors wanting to escape the Lakeside crowds.
Pokhara is Nepal’s adventure capital. Options include tandem paragliding from Sarangkot (landing on the Lakeside beach), white-water rafting on the Seti or Kali Gandaki rivers (Grade II–III), ziplining, and bungee jumping. See our Nepal Adventure Activities page for details.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can Sarangkot sunrise tours be cancelled due to cloud?
Cloud cover at Sarangkot is common from June through September and occasionally in spring. We check conditions the evening before and advise you honestly. We do not charge cancellation fees for weather-related cancellations.
Is paragliding safe in Pokhara?
Pokhara is one of the safest and most popular tandem paragliding destinations in the world. Eco Holiday Asia works only with Civil Aviation Authority-licensed operators and pilots. Tandem flights require no prior experience.
How long is the Phewa Lake boat trip to the World Peace Pagoda?
Boat crossing to the south shore: 10–15 minutes. Walk from the boat landing to the pagoda: 30–40 minutes uphill. Total including return: 2–3 hours depending on pace.
Can I combine a Pokhara day tour with my trekking start or end?
Yes. Many clients do Sarangkot sunrise on the morning before their Annapurna trek starts, or a Phewa Lake afternoon on the day they return from the mountains. We plan around your trek dates.
