Most Popular Nepal Trekking Packages

Poon Hill Trek (4–5 Days) — Best for First-Timers

The ideal introductory Himalayan trek. Ghorepani village, Poon Hill viewpoint (3,200m) at sunrise over Annapurna and Dhaulagiri, and rhododendron forests in bloom through spring. Suitable for fit beginners. Teahouse trek.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek (10–12 Days) — Most Scenic

Trekking into the Annapurna Sanctuary: a glacial amphitheatre ringed by 7,000–8,000m peaks. Passes through rhododendron forests, Gurung villages, and the dramatic Modi Khola gorge. Max altitude 4,130m. Moderate fitness required.

Everest Base Camp Trek (14–17 Days) — Most Iconic

The classic: Lukla to the base of the world’s highest mountain. Sherpa culture, Tengboche Monastery, and the Khumbu Glacier. Max altitude 5,545m (Kala Patthar). Proper acclimatisation required.

Manaslu Circuit Trek (14–18 Days) — Best for Solitude

A complete circuit of the world’s 8th highest peak (8,163m). Less traffic than the Annapurna circuit; Nubri and Tsum Tibetan-influenced culture; Larkya La pass (5,106m). Restricted area — permit required (arranged by us).

Upper Mustang Trek (12–15 Days) — Most Unique

The former Tibetan kingdom of Lo. A restricted area permit — quota-controlled — gives access to Lo Manthang, ancient cave monasteries, and a landscape unlike anywhere else in Nepal. Max altitude 3,840m. Can be done June–September (rain shadow, dry in monsoon).

Langtang Valley Trek (7–10 Days) — Best from Kathmandu

Just 3 hours by road from Kathmandu, Langtang is Nepal’s closest major trekking region to the capital. Tamang cultural villages, yak pastures, and views of Langtang Lirung (7,227m). Max altitude 4,984m (Kyanjin Ri). Moderate fitness.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need prior trekking experience for the EBC or Annapurna Circuit?

No prior trekking experience is required, but you need good aerobic fitness. Walking 5–7 hours per day for 14+ consecutive days is the key requirement. Begin training (walking, hiking, stair climbing) 3–4 months before your trek.

Can I do a Nepal trek solo?

Nepal regulations require that trekkers in restricted areas (Mustang, Manaslu, Tsum Valley, Nar Phu) are accompanied by a registered guide. For standard routes (Annapurna, Everest), independent trekking is permitted but we strongly recommend a guide for safety, especially above 4,000m.

What is the best season for Nepal trekking?

October to November (autumn) and March to May (spring) are the peak seasons for most routes. Upper Mustang and Dolpo are best in monsoon season (June–September) when the rain shadow keeps them dry.

Are trekking permits expensive?

Standard permits (TIMS card + national park entry) cost USD 30–50 total for most routes. Restricted area permits (Mustang, Manaslu) cost significantly more and have minimum-stay requirements. All permit costs are included in Eco Holiday Asia package prices — there are no hidden extras. Permit fees may change — Eco Holiday Asia verifies the latest rates before confirming your trip.
