About This Tour
Kumroj Village Tour Overview
Kumroj is a multicultural Tharu village on the edge of Chitwan National Park, one of Nepal's first communities to embrace ecotourism and community-based conservation. This short tour takes you into the heart of Terai village life — you'll stay with a local Tharu family, explore community forests, visit organic farms, and learn about the remarkable biogas initiative that made Kumroj one of Nepal's first fully biogas-powered villages.
Unlike standard Chitwan safari packages, this tour is designed around community interaction. Your guide is from Kumroj itself, your meals are cooked by Tharu hosts using local ingredients, and your tour fees go directly to the village tourism committee that manages conservation and education programs.
